• The TACUHO Summer Drive In is a chance for our colleagues across the state to come together for a day of connecting and engaging. Drive Ins are hosted regionally throughout Tennessee to make it a convenient and affordable option for members.

  • We are currently still looking for institutions who are interested in hosting our TACUHO Summer Drive Ins. Historically, we’ve tried to have an institution from each area of the state host a Drive In in order to accommodate our membership and account for our state’s length.

  • The host institution is responsible for the majority of the planning for the Drive-In!

    Logistics

    The host school’s responsibilities normally include picking the date and times for the event, selecting and booking rooms on campus for the event, working with any external presenters that might be included (like a keynote), and being a liaison between the institution and TACUHO.

    Food at Drive-Ins has been variable throughout the years. Last year, both the Drive-In hosts covered the cost of the lunch for attendees. That was super gracious of them, but is not a requirement! Scheduling a lunch break and sharing local places for attendees is absolutely okay.

    Schedule Creation

    Since the host is responsible for the majority of the logistics, it is often easiest for the host to finalize the schedule for the day. The TACUHO Executive Committee can help with this as needed!

    Drive-Ins are historically mostly roundtables and discussion-heavy sessions, but program sessions could be an addition if your institution is interested. If an institution wanted to do a call for programs, the TACUHO Executive Committee and the host institution could work together to make this happen!

    Registration and Payment Processing

    As thanks for hosting, the host institution does not have a delegate cap and does not pay for registration.

    TACUHO handles registration costs through our end, so the host institutions do not need to process any payments.
